Note on Data Classification & Accuracy:

Correctly categorizing companies into commodity sectors is not always straightforward. Many companies produce or develop projects across multiple commodities and have significantly changed their operations over the past 10 years. For the sake of clarity, we have assigned each company to the category that best represents its primary focus today.

However, please keep in mind the following details regarding our data:

Historical Data & Recency: The most recent data (last 2–3 years) is generally more reliable. For older periods, inaccuracies are inevitable — particularly for companies that were delisted many years ago. To ensure maximum transparency, we have tracked all significant corporate actions (mergers, delistings, ticker changes) in a dedicated section.

Category Size & Stability: Categories with a large number of companies tend to be more accurate and stable. A single classification error in a group of 100 companies has much less impact than the same error in a small group of 10. Smaller categories are therefore more prone to inaccuracies.

Coverage Limitations: Some companies may be missing because they are listed on exchanges not yet supported by our data providers, or because they are very recent listings with no available data feed.

This is a complex, ongoing project. We are committed to continuously improving data quality, classification accuracy, and coverage — adding new companies and refining our calculations every month.
