The Rare Earths section covers a wide range of rare earth elements companies listed on major global exchanges, where REE are the primary commodity and main driver of value.
Coverage features companies with projects in various geological settings, most commonly carbonatites, alkaline igneous complexes, ion-adsorption clay deposits, and monazite-bearing heavy mineral sands. Rare earth elements are divided into Light REE (LREE) and Heavy REE (HREE). Light REE, particularly neodymium and praseodymium (NdPr), are critical for permanent magnets in electric vehicles and wind turbines. Heavy REE, such as dysprosium and terbium, are essential for high-performance magnets, defense applications, and advanced electronics. The sector is characterized by high technical barriers in cracking and oxide separation, along with significant geopolitical importance due to concentrated supply chains, particularly in China.
